Nian Gao:The northerners eat Jiao Zi， but southerners like to eat Nian Gao， which translates to #30"New Year Cake#30". In Chinese， Gao is a homonym for high. Nian Gao is also called Nian Nian Gao， which is a homonym for #30"higher each year春节美食和习俗众多？怎么用英语介绍呢？

春节是中国传统节日，它的来源有几种说法，最常见的有两种。一种是起源于殷商时期年头岁末祭神祭祖活动（繁：動）；另一种是古时的传说，村庄里出现了一种叫娱乐城做“年”的怪兽，它们伤人伤动物，最后人们用鞭炮、红色等赶跑了这种怪兽。
每一年春节的【读：de】饮食和习俗就跟这两种说法有关。中国地大物博，民族众多，各个地方庆祝春节的[读：de]美食和习俗都不《读：bù》一样。
用英语介绍美食和习俗，先了（繁体：瞭澳门威尼斯人）解汉语对应的说法。
1、春节必吃的三种食物：饺子、汤圆、年糕。北方初一吃澳门伦敦人饺子，南方吃汤圆。南北(pinyin：běi)方很多地方在过年期间吃年糕，寓意“年年高”。
During the Spring Festival， three kinds of food are usually served. They are dumplings #28jiaozi#29， sweet dumplings and sticky rice cake.
On the first day of the Chinese New year， people have jiaozi in north while sweet dumplings in south. As well， they eat the sticky rice cake which symbolizes having a higher position for jobholders or becoming taller for children.
2、年夜饭是[读：shì]春《读：chūn》节期间最重视的一顿饭。除夕夜全家聚在一起，餐桌上有鸡、鸭、鱼、牛羊肉。鱼是必须有的，代表年年有余。
The Family Reunion Dinner plays a vital role in the Spring Festival. Family members get together to have a rich dinner on New Year#30"s Eve.
Apart from chicken， duck， pork， beef and mutton， fich is indispensable because it means abundance in materials in the next year.
3、春节期间各个地方有丰富的庆祝活动。贴对联，剪窗花，挂灯笼，放鞭炮，拜年，逛庙会等等。对孩子们来说，最开心的莫过于收到长辈们给的压岁钱。
Varieties of activities are held to observe this special festival.
People paste red couplets and papercutting on doors and windows， hang lanterns， light fireworks， pay a new year#30"s call to relatives， and go to the Temple Fairs etc..
