节日一般用day，holiday表示“假期，度假”给人们[men]休息的日子，除一些公共或者法定假日之外，有的节日人们不一定能够休息，例如愚人节。在字典里holiday的解释是“a time of rest from work，especially a day on which there is a general stopping of work”。个人认为，holiday也可以表示节日，但是比较注重休息放假这方面，而且时间长一点例如summer holiday，而day比较注重就节日那一天，如果在某个节日可以休息放假的话，也可以在后面加holiday，例如christmas holiday 圣{练：shèng}诞节假期。希望对你有点启发。
